Granholm in Hillary’s Back Pocket…
Originally published in the Grand Rapids Business Journal, December 3, 2007
Yeah, yeah… not very nice. But that’s what I liked about it….
(That’s Michigan’s governor, Jennifer Granholm in Hillary Clinton’s back pocket. Granholm was an early and enthusiastic endorser of Clinton to the point of helping her rig the upcoming Democratic primary in Clinton’s favor.)

How did she rig the primary? Obama/Kucinich ’08! 🙂

Well, perhaps “rig” is too strong a term. No. Actually, it isn’t. Basically, by attempting to have the Michigan primary upstage the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary, Granholm knew most Democratic candidates would stay out of Michigan to avoid the wrath of the national party. Ipso-facto, Clinton (whom she endorses) is pretty much the only one on the ticket.

That’s crazy.
Thanks,

Simply amazing. You ask for an explanation, get one, and then depart with “That’s crazy”? In what way is that crazy? Crazy in that you don’t believe our governor is capable of complex political positioning on this type? Crazy in that you can’t believe Clinton would stoop to rigging a primary in her own favor? Crazy in that you still have the naivety to believe in Clinton’s sparkly goodness? Please, enlighten us all as to the nature of the “crazy” that’s presented here.
Because John sounds dead-on here. There’s was little to no reason to risk all the Michigan Democrat’s power at the convention for a transparent move like this other than to benefit the governor’s candidate. Science forbid this state endorse anyone but the Inevitable Candidate (TM).

Our so called Governor is a real disappointment to us and many others who now see thru this primary. Maybe Jennifer has a promise from Hillary… sounds like it! DISGUSTED VOTERS
